President Clueless

In a stunning display of utter cluelessness, while addressing the graduating class from the Coast Guard Academy Obama made the astonishing statement that “climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security…” and that disagreeing with him on the issue “… is a dereliction of duty … Denying it or refusing to deal with it endangers our national security.”

The DunceHis foreign policy initiatives are in tatters. Russia under Putin has essentially annexed large swaths of Eastern Europe. The Middle East is in flames, with ISIS controlling large areas and perpetrating mind-numbingly horrendous atrocities on everyone in sight. Iran’s on the verge of getting nukes. North Korea’s accumulating a respectable stockpile of nukes while rattling sabers at South Korea as well as us. China’s confronting the world in the South China Sea through their development of the Spratly Islands, and their expansionist territorial claims.

And Obama thinks the biggest threat we face to our national security is “climate change”? Folks, you just can’t make this stuff up.

It seems to me that the biggest “risk to our national security” is Obama himself.

Further, what exactly does Obama – and the rest of the climate change hysterics – think can actually be done? Do they actually believe that mankind can somehow stop the climate from changing for the first time in the planet’s entire 4.5 billion year history? Isn’t that the real “denial” in the issue? Denying that climate change is the natural state of affairs for this blue orb?

You may as well try to stop the tides with a kid’s sand pail and shovel.

I agree that Obama is clueless concerning what to do on the “world stage”; but on the “national Democrat/Liberal/Socialist stage”, it appears to me that he is on target. The average Democrat voter is watching the failure of 50 years of Democrat political rule and starting to ask why. The Democrat elites have to prove that the failure is not in the Liberal policies that have made Detroit, Memphis, and other Liberal ruled large cities the hell-holes they have become. These elites have to prove that the Middle East exploding is not due to a weak and ill-advised Democrat president. The rise of a hostile Russia and China must be shown not to be the fault of the combination of an Obama Presidency with a Clinton Secretary of State.

Climate Change must be the cause! And the saddest thing that I have seen is that the Democrat voters in Mississippi (and Florida) that I have talked to are actually buying this silly explanation.

However, what worries me most about the Middle East are the water shortages now being experienced in every Islamic ruled country. Iranian water reserves are even less than those in California. (In the Middle East only Israel doesn’t have any water problems.) These water shortages do not bode well.

Yeah, Grey. I’ve always held that leftism/socialism is a form of utopianism, based on a fatally and fundamentally flawed concept of human nature. It requires that one completely reject the actual nature of people, and as such it also requires that one reject any historical record of its failures. If one believes in unicorns, every horse starts to look like one.

As to water problems in the region, that’s always been an issue there. But not all the countries are stuck at the starting gate. Oman, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and of course (as you noted) Israel have all taken steps to address it, with pretty good results, primarily by developing a desalination infrastructure, something I’ve been shouting from the rooftops for years for us here in Commiefornia to do.

Instead, we’re spending untold billions on a not-bullet train scam, yet another unicorn thundering down the pike.

  2. Hardnox says:

Brian, you took the words out of my mouth… “risk to our national security is Obama himself” when hearing that speech. He said the same crap to the graduating class at West point last year. Apparently the asshat thinks that saying it over and over again will make it true.

What you and we (over at my place) have opined hundreds of times, the notion that us mere mortals can legislate the climate is 100% bullshit and the height of hubris.

Further, those that believe in this fraud can never explain the 500 year Viking colonization of Greenland that took place 1000 years ago long before us evil industrialized capitalists were around. http://hardnoxandfriends.com/2014/03/25/what-about-those-vikings-in-greenland/

Frankly, I don’t understand why anyone in the opposition doesn’t use that narrative to drive a stake in the heart of this fraud. It’s an easy and a historically supported narrative that even LIV lemmings would get.

More than likely, King Putt is given these talking points by George Soreholes since there are trillions to be stolen from the world’s treasuries.

    • BrianR says:

      Nox, you’ve nailed it.

The problem is that the people “on our side” are either wimps on the topic, afraid of criticism, or are Kool-Aid drinkers themselves, i.e. McIdiot, Bush, Graham, et al.

  3. Née says:

Spot on! You hit all the important things that the Pied Piper does not know what to do with…even France And Germany have more balls to say no to Iran! When the end comes…it’s gonna get ugly. Is there any hope on the domestic side with SCOTUS? Sigh.

    • BrianR says:

      Gaawd, Nee, I hope so.

I think we’ve got some decent candidates — Cruz, Jindal, Walker — who could easily win; and some real stinkers — Bush, Graham, Huckleberry.

I think Clinton is about the lost beatable candidate the Dem/socialists could nominate, and she doesn’t seem to (at elast as yet) have any competition for that party’s nomination.

This could well shape up to be the most opportune election for the GOP in a long time, but one can rarely go wrong by betting on that party successfully managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

  4. clyde says:

Spot-on as always, pard. Is he really clueless, or is he a CLASSIC example of “if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit” type of guy ? As you well know, I’ve done a bazillion posts on the fraud of the climate change industry. As long as the rubes and sheeple hear it shouted from the rooftops by the sycophantic media, and as long as these same hucksters think they can profit, or in the case of the U-frigging-N, think they can control ALL aspects of everyone’s daily lives, the scammery will continue.

    • BrianR says:

Yep, Clyde, I go by Nox & Friends daily, and you are without doubt the clarion caller on the issue.

I think Obozo is a “classic”. He’s a sociopathic True Believer in Marxism, and that’s what this is all about.

  5. captbogus2 says:

“Dereliction of duty…Denying it…endangers national security…” Kinda reminds me of Hitler asking his troops to swear allegiance to Adolf Hitler…
It’s, “Agree with me or you are derelict in your duties as officer in USCG and a security risk.”

  6. CW says:

I agree, Brian. All of the so-called “threats” that are making the headlines these days are nothing compared to the threats we face from ‘progressives’ like Obama. Been mulling a post on that subject myself for some time now.

You asked, “Do they actually believe that mankind can somehow stop the climate from changing for the first time in the planet’s entire 4.5 billion year history?

I have never believed that the leftwing elites like Obama actually believe in “climate change,” although the sheep might. Their cover-ups, their refusal to debate and their personal disregard for the environment – among other things – proves it. Obama & Co. have figured out that “climate change” is a leftist’s dream come true. All kinds of wealth and power transfer can be achieved in the name of saving us from the dreaded monster “climate change.” They are salivating at the very thought of it, and frantic to make it an accepted “fact” so that they can pursue their agenda. I’m sure you’ve heard some even talk of putting people in jail for being “deniers.” We can’t have them around, foiling the plot. Call me cynical but I think “climate change” is the worst case of intentional fraud the world has ever seen.

    • BrianR says:

I couldn’t agree more, CW, especially as to the “climate change” Nazis. That’s also why the U-frikikin-N has made it such a top priority. The primary goal of that Marxist organization for DECADES has been to become a global oligarchy. What better way than through the climate change Gestapo?

  7. captbogus2 says:

Yeah, find and champion a cause that cannot be proven or disproven and then panic the LIV’s into stampeding like a herd of buffalo over a cliff.

    • BrianR says:

Yup. Same thing the GOP does when they nominate crappy candidates, and try to panic everyone with their screams about Pelosi, Reid, or the Hildebeast.

  8. captbogus2 says:

The conservative GOP does a pretty good job of shooting themselves in the foot, too. By the time primary time is here the list of candidates will be pared down but there will still be enough conservative candidates to split 75% of the vote while the GOPe candidate walks into November on 25%…

    • BrianR says:

Yeah, unfortunately that’s a real possibility. That’s how they ended up with McBonehead back in 2008. The good old circular firing squad. It’s why I call them the PSP — Perpetually Stupid Party.

  9. captbogus2 says:

If the conservative candidates were truly concerned about the country more than their own grandiose egos they would caucus, choose the most viable and ALL of them would work to promote that candidate to the Oval Office.

  10. captbogus2 says:

June 6 last entry. Time for another thought provoking column, maybe.

  11. cyn3wulf says:

Hey, Brian, do you do requests? It would be interesting to get your take on the incessant race issues that have popped up over the last couple of years (with increasing frequency it seems) in general and your take on the left’s use of words like racism, privilege, and fragility (do a quick search for “white fragility” and you’ll see what I mean) in particular.

    • BrianR says:

Whoa, Cyne! Bro! You must be reading my mind!

I had a conversation today with friends and relatives at a Dad’s Day get-together and we started discussing EXACTLY that topic, which led me to think it’s a blog issue.

      Spoooooooky…

Consider your “request” will be my next mission. You’ll be mentioned therein, if you don’t mind (I always ask permission first).

  12. captbogus2 says:

    Hear! Hear!

  13. Nee says:

I am beyond sad and frustrated. It appears that another “crisis” is going to be tearing and dividing our Country, yet again. The very idea that anyone can say with a clear conscience that we are a white supremacist society and terrorists are better than Americans is beyond the pale. Where are we going to go from here if we continue to white wash all that has come before? If we ban a flag, what is next? Inch by fu@#ing inch and the idiots can’t even see it coming. Are you done writing, yet, cause I need some reason and calm!! 🙂

    • BrianR says:

Well, judging by all the hoopla I’m seeing in the leftist columns in the rags, it looks like “reparations” are big on the agenda.

Not done writing yet. I’m putting a new one up today (I think).
